I am a Colorado native and was a child of Denver Public Schools. After graduating from East High School I attended Colorado State University, University of Denver and United States International University culminating in a doctoral degree in child and family psychology. I spent 15 years in early childhood mental health as a child and family therapist in addition to teaching as an adjunct instructor at Metropolitan State University of Denver. During this time I had always felt the pull toward K-12 education and made the decision to change careers and become a special education teacher. With the encouragement and support of my principals and fellow teachers I enrolled in the Ritchie Program for School Leaders and I have been a principal in DPS for four years. I am lucky to have found Lowry as my new home and look forward to many years of educating the students under our care! In my spare time I enjoy time with family, hiking, backpacking, fly fishing and playing my bongos, djembe and cajon!
