LOWRY NEWS

October 11, 2018

Thank You for Helping Our Students SOAR!

From the Principal:

Hello Lowry Families!

Keep in mind that the best information about school closures due to inclement weather are on the DPS Facebook page, DPS website (www.dpsk12.org), and local news. We are not a late start school, so any announcement of a Weather Delay DOES NOT impact our start time at Lowry. Good to know as we start seeing colder weather.

Another note is that we will ALWAYS try to have students outside during morning and lunch recess, as we know it is best for kids to get fresh air and be allowed to run, jump, and play. That said, please dress your child appropriately for cold weather days. We always anticipate having an “outside” day unless there are extreme weather circumstances that do not allow for outdoor play.

Last but not least, we hope to see you all next week at school conferences (after school from 3:30-7:30) on Wednesday, October 17 and Thursday, October 18. Since our School Performance Framework rating is being announced tomorrow, Mrs. Zilverberg and I will be in the Community Room hosting sessions on the School Performance Framework both nights from 5:30-6:30. We also encourage you to drop by the community room with any questions about SPF before or after your child’s conference.

Thank you for your continued support of Lowry Elementary!

Ms. Nault

From your school PTO (Parent-Teacher Organization):

Farmer’s Market:   Last One! Tomorrow, October 12 from 3-4 pm outside the North entrance of the school next to the playgrounds!  There will be a great variety of produce available, which could include corn, lettuce, peppers, zucchini, melons, etc. This week Ms. Sorrells’ class is hosting. We will have PUMPKINS for sale!  We hope to see you there!

Garden Committee~ The Lowry PTO School Garden committee is looking for a landscaper to do some work in the school gardens this fall. We would love to keep this work in our school community and are looking to see if any Lowry families own or work at a landscaping/gardening company. We have some dedicated funding for a few specific projects. If interested or know of anyone please contact Aimee Konowal at 720-284-2370.
