LOWRY NEWS

November 30, 2017

Thank You for Helping Our Students SOAR!

DEC 6 FROM 5-7pm ~ SCIENCE FAIR AND GRAND OPENING OF THE STEM LAB – Boards detailing experiments will be displayed by the students who participated and awards will be announced.  Exhibitors will be present with some fun and interactive activities for all ages.

LOWRY AUCTION ~ WE NEED HELP PLANNING!  Are you interested in helping to plan the Lowry Auction this year, our biggest fundraiser…we would love your help and ideas!  Everyone is welcome!  We are meeting at school on Dec 5 from 430-530.  If you are not able to join us but are interested in helping out please email Charis at lowrypto@gmail.com.

FOOD DRIVE to benefit our Backpack program ~ please bring in non-perishable food items during the week of Dec 4-8 for our children and families that benefit from our backpack program.  We had such a great turnout last drive; we really appreciate the support, especially around the holidays.  There will also be a collection jar if students choose to bring in loose change.   ENJOY A PJ DAY ON FRIDAY, 12/8 WITH A FOOD OR CHANGE DONATION.

Colorado Gives day is December 5 and we need your support for the Aviator Fund.

Looking for ways to help Lowry?  A donation to the Aviator Fund may be the answer you have been looking for!  The Aviator Fund brought in Mr. Val and the computer lab special years ago.  Without these additional funds, the computer program might not have grown into the amazing new STEM lab that we have today.  The Aviator Fund also helps fund the additional paraprofessional support in our school.  Wouldn’t it be great to have the funds to support Dr. Cooper’s vision of TWO adults in every classroom?  We can help work towards that goal with donations to the Aviator Fund.

But WAIT!  There is more exciting news!  If you schedule your donation for Tuesday, December 5, Coloradogives.org matches a percentage of all our donations.  That means MORE money for our school!

Please consider donating an amount that is meaningful to you and your child’s Lowry education.  Cash/checks are accepted in the school office; please label “Aviator Fund”.  You can also make your donations on-line at ColoradoGives.org.  The direct link is on your Lowry app under parents.

Please do not let the giving be limited to the school’s immediate families.  Please reach out to grandparents, aunts, uncles, close friends as well as your work place.  Many businesses match donations, all you have to do is ask.

Questions: contact Amy at ahulsey@denverrealestate.com.

Thank you for your donations and supporting Lowry Elementary!

Chinook Books ~ are available now!  The 12-month app subscription and book can be purchased for the low price of $18.  50% of the proceeds ($9 from every combo sold) will go to help fund our Fourth Graders going to the Keystone Science Camp in April.  To purchase a copy please e-mail Julie @ spankymp@hotmail.com

In order to be successful and offer this opportunity to our students, we need adult volunteers as well. If your student is interested in competing this year, please consider co-managing a team!  If your student is interested in participating in DI this year, please complete the district google form on our website here: www.dpsdi.weebly.com
