Congratulations to the Lowry Girls on the Run team!

Our 3rd -5th grade team of girls finished up the Spring GOTR season by participating in the Colfax Marathon 5k on Saturday, May 20.  Thanks to coaches Dawn Martin (parent of Delaney Martin) and Kaitlin Wolff (our community volunteer) – who volunteered their Monday afternoons to working and running with the girls.

The Fall Lowry Elementary Girls on the Run program will start the week of September 11 and end with the girls participating in the Denver 5K Candy Run on November 12.

Girls on the Run inspires girls to a lifetime of self-respect and a healthy lifestyle through an innovative program that combines training for a 3.1 mile run/walk race with a fun, health education lesson plan.  The team meets one day a week, immediately after school for 2 hours.

The program is open to all 3rd through 5th grade girls and has a reduced participation fee of $95 per participant.

Registration opens the week of August 14.

For more information about the program go to www.girlsontherunrockies.org.
