Lowry's Attendance Policy

There is a direct correlation between good attendance and achievement in school.  To ensure successful learning of skills, students are expected to attend school on a dailybasis.  We hope you wil make every effort to see that children are in school dialy, except for illness or emergency situations.  being late has a significant negative impact on the classroom and learning.  Therefore, Lowry Elementary School has established the following Student Tardy Policy.

Please notify the office if your child must be absent.  We appreciate your call so that it is not necessary to bother you at work.

Perfect Attendance is fewer than three tardies and attending every day for at least 3/4 of the day.

Tardies- The first bell will ring at 8:10 a.m. and students will line up and be in the classroom ready to learn by 8:15 a.m. Students who arrive after the 8:15 a.m. bell are tardy and must stop by the office to pick up a Tardy Slip.  We encourage parents to walk late students into the office for safety reasons.  If a student is tardy three times it will count against perfect attendance.  Tardy students are immediately subject to "Tardy Hall" during recess time.  Habitual truancies (over 20) will be reported to the school social worker.
