Dear Parents,
It's school time again! My name is Susan Peterson (I got married last March so some kids may know me as Ms. Caudillo) and I am the English as a Second Language Teacher at Lowry Elementary. I am very happy to have your child in my ESL classroom. I believe that by all of us working together we can make this a very successful year.
Let me tell you a little about myself. I was born and raised in Southeastern Iowa. My parents were born and raised in Mexico so I was brought up speaking Spanish and English. I have two older sisters and one younger sister. I went to a Catholic school from K-12th grade. I graduated from Iowa State University with a B.S in Psychology and a minor in Spanish. I was fortunate to study and work abroad during those 4 years of college and since then have traveled to many countries. After college, I came out to Denver and gave a year of service by joining Americorps. I was placed at a non-profit that worked with twenty Denver Public schools in Northeast Denver. I loved Denver so much that I stayed and worked for that same non-profit for three more years as the After-School Director in twenty different DPS schools. After those 3 years, I went back to school and went through a teacher’s program at the University of Colorado at Denver. I am currently working on my Master’s degree at UCD. I am very passionate about working with the group of diverse students that walk through my door every year and I love what I do
Please call or come by and visit the school any time that you have a question concerning your child's progress.
I consider it a great privilege and responsibility to be your child's ESL teacher this year, and look forward to meeting each of you.
Sincerely,
Mrs. Peterson Email Mrs. Peterosn Mrs. Peterson's Classroom News
