This will be my second year as a
special education teacher at Lowry Elementary.
I am very satisfied about working at Lowry because my co-workers are
amazing, the students are great, and best of all I get paid to do what I like
to do, work with kids!
A memory from when I was in
elementary school was when my twin brother, Andy, and I where in third grade
and we got in trouble for cheating on the Iowa Basic Skills Tests. We missed all the same problems with nearly
the same wrong answers. It was a big deal.
Our parents had to go with us to the principal’s office. There was a committee of people waiting for
us. Our Mom asked the room full of people,
“How could two third grade boys cheat on a standardized test when they were
taking it at the same time, in two different rooms, and with proctors watching
over them?” The room was silent. Our Mom then said, “They are identical
twins. They not only look alike, but
they think alike too.” There was no debate.
No one could prove or explain how we were capable of doing such a thing,
including my brother and I. Everyone
wrote it off as “ a twin thing” and we never heard anything else about again. A little known fact about me that
not many people know about, until now… I
love the smell of my dog’s ears. Email Mr. Miles Mr. Miles' Classroom
