My official name is Michael Krannawitter, but I am better known as “Mr. K” here at Lowry Elementary, where I have been employed in the English as a Second Language (ESL) program for the last two years. I have been married to the same wonderful woman Maria, a native of Venezuela, for 28 years. Our precious daughter Angela is 25 and lives here in Denver. I grew up in northwest Kansas, where I attended public elementary and middle schools. During high school I went to a religious boarding school. I graduated with a BA in English from Fort Hays State University and received an MA in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Kansas. Throughout my scholastic career I was the “class clown,” but I always tried to make good grades.    Since 1980 I have been teaching ESL to students of all ages and at all levels at schools in Venezuela, Texas, and Kansas. I have been working at Denver Public Schools as an ESL teacher since 2001. My hobbies are genealogy, playing blues/rock guitar, traveling with my family, and escaping into the mountains whenever possible. I really enjoy teaching at Lowry Elementary because my students are so appreciative of me and my classes. I am proud to be a staff member here. Email  Mr. Krannawitter          Mr .
