Message from Dr. Larkin:
We had a wonderful start to the school year. In each grade level, students have been practicing and perfecting their rituals and routines. The staff is excited to see so many new and familiar faces. We are glad your family is at Lowry!
As part of our school-wide routines, we have made some modifications to our drop-off, tardy and visitor procedures for the 2025-2026 school year. We’re looking to finetune these procedures and you will receive more information about new procedures in the coming weeks.
If you are dropping off your student(s) in the morning, please review the Kiss N Go map. All students in grades 1-5 should be dropped off on Maple St. between 8-8:10 a.m.
If your student(s) rides the school bus, please be patient with the new My Ride K-12 bus app. Your child(ren) should be at the bus stop 5 minutes before the scheduled pick-up time, even if the app says the bus will be late.
Tardy Procedures:
If students are late to school, they should be dropped off at the front door (on Cedar Ave.), not the playground entrance.
Parents/guardians may come into the office, but will not be able to walk their students to class–this is to ensure a safe and orderly learning environment for all students.
If a child needs to be walked to class, a Lowry staff member will walk them.
If an ECE student is late, the parent/guardian will come to the office with the student and a staff member will assist them.
Any adult who comes to Lowry to volunteer, attend a meeting, etc. must sign-in in the main office. All visitors must receive a visitor badge.
We will be implementing an afternoon Kiss N Go lane! Look for more information coming this week!
Thank you for following our routines! Our students follow routines and procedures more effectively when we have the support of our entire community, including our parents/guardians.

What’s Happening at Lowry:

We are thrilled to welcome many new faces to our school community this year. Alongside returning general education teachers, we are joined by new educators, dedicated MI-A teachers who will support our students with autism, as well as new paraprofessionals and custodial staff. Each of these team members brings unique skills and a shared commitment to creating a safe, caring, and engaging learning environment. Please join us in warmly welcoming them to our school family!
We already have items on our Lost and Found shelves! Be sure to check the Lost and Found when you are visiting school. Items will be donated after school on October 10, December 19, March 27, and May 28.
Once a month, we would like to do a family spotlight in our family updates! If you have a family you would like to nominate, complete this form! We’re looking for our September family now!
Grade Level Shoutout:
Shout out to ECE students, teachers, and families on your first week at Lowry!! We’re so excited to welcome our preschoolers, many of whom are experiencing school for the very first time! These first days are all about building a sense of belonging and getting to know our new school family. Children are also practicing the daily routines that help them feel confident and successful at school.
In partnership,
Dr. Annie Larkin
