Message From Dr. Larkin:
Last week we announced an attendance incentive for February: each student who is present all day every day will receive a token to our Book Vending Machine! Being present all day means that students are at school by 8:10 and do not leave before 3:10. We are excited to see how many students are here for the entire month!
In addition, we are requesting that you do not pick your child up between 3 p.m.-3:10 p.m. Early dismissals during the last 10 minutes of the day cause a disruption to our classrooms as teachers and students are wrapping up their learning during this time. Thank you for your understanding.
Important Dates:
February 4-10: Dos Amigas Orders (PTO Fundraiser). Enjoy delicious, frozen Mexican meals that will be delivered to your home on February 11! Visit dosamigas.com to order (order window: February 4-10) and use code LOEL to help us get 20% of the proceeds!
February 11: Friendship Day Parties will be held during the school day in homeroom classes. Be on the lookout for information from your child’s teacher and/or classroom liaison.
February 12: Snarf’s Dining for Dollars (PTO Fundraiser), 11 a.m.-3 p.m. The kids don’t have school on February 12, so go grab lunch at the new Snarf’s on Lowry Blvd! Show this flyer or mention the fundraiser when you order. This is another delicious opportunity for us to earn 20% of the proceeds!
February 12 & 13: No School for Parent/Guardian Conferences. Scheduling information will come directly from your child’s homeroom teacher. Conferences are a wonderful opportunity to learn about your child’s progress!

The DPS FACE Office provides a variety of opportunities for families, including Museum tickets, gift cards, workbooks and academic learning games — there are giveaways at every FACE University event! Upcoming FACE events:
February 18 from 5:30–6:30 p.m: Dreams to Degrees, a session for middle and high school families exploring how students can turn their passions into future college and career pathways. Learn about resources, tools and supports available to help your student take meaningful next steps starting today.
February 23-24 at 8-10 a.m. or 6-8 pm: Calm and Kind Family February. This program equips parents with practical tools to support their children emotionally in three key areas: mental health, self-regulation and managing their own emotions. Interpretation is available if requested by Friday, Feb. 13. To register, click the hyperlinked time above.
