Message from Dr. Larkin:
Throughout the year, we consistently review and revise our school routines, including those related to ensuring our students–your children–are able to attend school in a safe and orderly environment and to access their learning potential. As we review them as a school staff, we wanted to share some reminders with you:
If you are utilizing the Kiss N Go lane for morning drop-off, please make sure you are only traveling east on Maple Avenue (Trenton St. to Ulster St.). Parking on Maple Ave. is only permitted in designated areas; you can view the parking areas on this map. Students should not be dropped off on the north side of Maple Ave. to then cross the street.
You will be receiving information about our new Departure Lane later this week. If you would like to attend the PTO Coffee and Departure Lane presentation on February 20, please RSVP here.
We understand that many students have cellphones or smart watches. During the school day, cellphones should be off and away (stowed in a backpack); students should not use their watches or phones to communicate with parents during the school day. If a student needs to use the phone, they are welcome to come to the main office. If you need to reach your student, you may contact the main office.
We are requesting that you do not pick your child up between 3 p.m.-3:10 p.m. Early dismissals during the last 10 minutes of the day cause a disruption to our classrooms as teachers and students are wrapping up their learning during this time.
Another way to ensure that your student is reaching their academic potential is to communicate with their teachers. This week’s conferences are a great way to start or continue those conversations; here are some sample questions that you may want to ask to learn more about your student’s learning and progress. I hope you have signed up for a conference slot–if you need more information, please contact your child’s teacher.

A message from Coach Hartman: Hello from the gym! In P.E., we have been working on gymnastic skills using the cargo net, ropes, tumbling mats, balance beam, parallel bars, horizontal bar, vault and trampolet. These apparatuses help promote better body control, coordination, balance, flexibility, muscular strength and muscular endurance. We have a variety of tricks to work on as we improve these skills. On Thursday and Friday, for conferences, please feel free to come into the gym with your student for a student-led conference. You will ask your student questions as they take you through all the lessons we have been working on this year. Looking forward to seeing you and your student this Thursday or Friday.
