Message from Dr. Larkin:
On Friday, February 27, the staff engaged in LETRS training, which is our structured professional development on the Science of Reading. The training was intensive and incredibly helpful for our instructional staff to continue supporting student learning and reading instruction. We are looking forward to seeing more student growth as we move through the rest of the school year!
What’s Happening at Lowry:
Our Departure Lane is running smoothly–a special thanks to our Departure Team for implementing the Lane and to all of our staff and families for supporting this endeavor. Please remember that we are asking parents/guardians to refrain from parking on the north side of Maple Ave. (residential side of the street) to help with traffic flow. For more information about the Departure Lane, please visit the school website.
For the month of February, we were focused on student attendance, specifically students who were on time and present for the entire month. Each student who had perfect attendance in February will earn a book to the Book Vending Machine. We are excited to announce that over 150 students had perfect attendance for February! We look forward to having those students choose their books over the coming weeks. We do need more books for the vending machine; if you are able to donate new books for this program, please visit The Bookies Registry or Amazon.
In partnership,
Dr. Annie Larkin
