Message from Dr. Larkin:

Our 3rd-5th graders will begin taking the Colorado Measures of Academic Success (CMAS) assessments this week. Please ensure that your student is well-rested and is on-time for school each day during the testing window (through April 24). Our students and teachers have been working hard all year and we are excited for our students to demonstrate their learning on CMAS!

What’s Happening at Lowry:

  • I hope you can join us for the PTO’s Wellness Night on Thursday, April 23. I am excited for this event, especially because my former teacher, Dale Clark, is coming to lead one of the sessions! Mr. Clark will be playing minute-to-win-it style games with families. Please RSVP!

  • Be sure to order your child’s yearbook! Yearbooks are $20 each. Order here

  • Mrs. Wingard’s classroom was featured in the Tools of the Mind website! Learn about how Mrs. Wingard helps students progress from mark-making to writing in this wonderful article.

  • We invite all of our parents/guardians to the Multilingual Education Parent Advisory Committee meeting on April 21. This is a wonderful opportunity to learn about how to support your student and get involved in the school. Learn more about it on the school website or the Important Dates above.

Family Spotlight:

This month’s Family Spotlight is on the Rodriguez family–mom Michele, dad Sergio, and daughters Julia and Elenia!

The Rodriguez family is new to Lowry this year–their oldest daughter, Julia, is in Kindergarten. Michele is a classroom liaison in Julia’s class and the family attends a number of school events, including Skate City, We Are Lowry Night, and the winter concert. The Rodriguez family wants to be actively involved in the school and reports that it has been “rewarding to support the school, build relationships, and help strengthen the sense of community for the kids.” Next year, little sister Elenia will be attending Lowry as an ECE student. Sergio and Michele are excited to have both of their children at Lowry and to continue their involvement and support of the school.

We’re so glad you’re here, Rodriguez family!

In partnership,

Dr. Annie Larkin
