Extracurricular Activities

These activities are so much fun, your child will be asking to stay at school with their friends to do them!

In line with the school’s mission of providing a well-rounded education and the PTO’s commitment to supporting enhanced educational opportunities, Lowry Elementary offers a variety of engaging, extracurricular programs, including:

Chess Club: Chess improves concentration, pattern recognition, decision making, algebraic and geometric thinking, problem solving, critical thinking, self-confidence, and good sportsmanship. Chess Club is open to all students. Rules and strategies are reinforced through instruction and playing fellow students, with the goal being to improve play, to have fun, and to challenge other school chess clubs to tournaments.
